Project news 31.12.2014

Teaching foreign languages, especially English, to seniors, is becoming one of the most crucial elements of education in later life in Europe. That’s why 3 non-governmental organizations working on adult education field, from Poland, Hungary and Italy gathered together to realize the Erasmus + Project “Innovative methods for increasing effectiveness of teaching English of 55+ learners” (InMETE 55+).

The project, which has a form of “Strategic Partnership”, done under the Key Action 2, is aimed at developing and enriching teaching methods of English and approach to seniors' education.

The Partnership works for two years - till 31 of August 2016, doing research, discussions, international meetings to prepare tangible outputs: a resource-pack for teachers, lesson outlines and curricula.

Our work is going to be summed up at the end of our project during three conferences organised by partners.

Over the last 4 months we have gathered the project teams, developed a complete set of administration documents, agreements and procedures for smooth project implementation, fixed all financial matters, organized the first kick-off international meeting in Krakow, Poland, launched the project blog and began to work on our first product - a resource-pack of possible resources: materials, ideas and guidelines, which could be used during the English lessons to increase cognitive functions of elderly learners.

The first version of the resource-pack should be ready by the middle of February – to be discussed and finalized together during our second international meeting in Szeged, Hungary, which is planned for 14th -15th of February 2015.

All project activities, both administrative and content-related, are very carefully planned, monitored, documented and evaluated, which ensures us that all our goals and planed results will be achieved.
