Testing our products

The lessons plans (O2) and two curricula (O3) are almost ready. Now we are testing them and, at the same time, working on its layout and design. Our teachers and external evaluators are checking if our products are innovative and may improve the efficiency and attractiveness of learning English by 55+ students.

We hope that the results of this testing phrase will be positive and after some small corrections we will be able to disseminate prepared materials – giving support and new tools to teachers of English to seniors.

Project news 23.10.2015

Time is passing so quickly. The fourth international meeting is behind us. It was a great and fruitful time in Szeged. All important matters were discussed, testing tool for our third product was prepared, next steps and deadlines were planned. We had a chance to learn more about Mobility tool and exchanged the ideas about project promotion and dissemination. We started to prepare our project leaflet which we are going to use during multiple events in each country.

In our free time we met old friends - learners from Tan-Folyam Oktatási és Kulturális Egyesület and some of us were trying to dance salsa and kizomba!

You can see how great the atmosphere was during the meeting by looking at the photo presentation – in our project Gallery: http://www.slideshare.net/secret/KMD4p2Xvovj1FG

Now we are working very hard – testing our second and third product (lesson plans and curricula). We plan that we will be able to present results of our work very soon!

Project news 11.06.2015

The third international meeting in Rome has just finished. It has been a great meeting. We worked hard, we exchanged ideas, we made proposals for the development of the project. And of course we laughed and ate a lot!

Our newborn baby ”O1” is almost complete. But it won’t be alone for long because ” his sisters”, lesson plans, are on their way too! And last but not least O3, ” the curricula” start to take shape. Not bad if you consider that Inmete is just one year old!

Output production progress

After the third international meeting in Rome we are happy to say that O1, the resource pack, is almost complete. We just need to correct the different elements according to the precious suggestions emerged by quality control procedure.

O2 - the lesson plans for elementary and intermediate level are almost ready too. Every partner has already illustrated the drafts of lesson plans prepared. Now these draft need to be turned in more detailed versions to be corrected and evaluated. Templates to test their effectiveness have been created and quality goals were established.

O3 - the curricula for elementary and intermediate level, is still a draft but will be improved in the following months.

Project news 08.04.2015

And so, very quickly, March has arrived!

These months have been very busy… Many the activities realized, but first of all, we are so happy to announce that the first intellectual output, O1 A resource-pack of materials, ideas and guidelines for teachers, is almost ready: in fact the final version the Output has finally been completed and sent to the external evaluators… We have to admit that it is a special emotion to see this first “baby” of the project taking a shape and become concrete.

But we didn’t have too much time to rest, because the other outputs are asking our attention. So the group has already started to work on a draft template for O2, and on a sample of curriculum (O3).

In the meantime many other things occurred. Each partner has set up local activities including promotion, monitoring, evaluation and recording of the project's progress, according to the agreed procedures. Also the accountants had to work very intensively, in order to prepare the first financial report.Quality control procedure, dissemination procedure have been defined. A conception of the project's visual materials is under the attention of the working groups. And of course we can’t forget the two project meetings: Krakow, and Szeged.

The adventure continues!

The project story - part 4 - full steam ahead

Everybody is working like a dog; inventing, developing, describing, fixing, negotiating and agreeing…. The rest of administrative papers, procedures, agreements, the first coordinators’ meeting and – of course! – our first (very)intellectual product. The project logo is ready and the project blog launched and even updated. Agnieszka (and of course Andrea, Andrea) has these matters in her grasp.

Procedures, especially evaluational, are becoming so complicated that we will have to develop special procedures how to read and understand them. Not to mention the procedure how to use them.

The first coordinators’ meeting, which usually consists of asking embarrassing questions, went perfectly well – instead of evasive answers we had percentages and numbers, which are usually associated with the so-called statistics (i.e. officially accepted lies), so everybody felt comfortably.

And our main task - the resource-pack. Nobody knows exactly what it is but Manuela courageously volunteered to explain it in Szeged, so we all had a sigh of relief. Now we are sniffing out resources -they are everywhere! - and just pack them. Everybody is so active and full of invention that even some deadlines decided not to be dead anymore– they move forward.

Project news 31.12.2014

Teaching foreign languages, especially English, to seniors, is becoming one of the most crucial elements of education in later life in Europe. That’s why 3 non-governmental organizations working on adult education field, from Poland, Hungary and Italy gathered together to realize the Erasmus + Project “Innovative methods for increasing effectiveness of teaching English of 55+ learners” (InMETE 55+).

The project, which has a form of “Strategic Partnership”, done under the Key Action 2, is aimed at developing and enriching teaching methods of English and approach to seniors' education.

The Partnership works for two years - till 31 of August 2016, doing research, discussions, international meetings to prepare tangible outputs: a resource-pack for teachers, lesson outlines and curricula.

Our work is going to be summed up at the end of our project during three conferences organised by partners.

Over the last 4 months we have gathered the project teams, developed a complete set of administration documents, agreements and procedures for smooth project implementation, fixed all financial matters, organized the first kick-off international meeting in Krakow, Poland, launched the project blog and began to work on our first product - a resource-pack of possible resources: materials, ideas and guidelines, which could be used during the English lessons to increase cognitive functions of elderly learners.

The first version of the resource-pack should be ready by the middle of February – to be discussed and finalized together during our second international meeting in Szeged, Hungary, which is planned for 14th -15th of February 2015.

All project activities, both administrative and content-related, are very carefully planned, monitored, documented and evaluated, which ensures us that all our goals and planed results will be achieved.

First output almost ready

We are very happy to announce that all of the Partners worked very hard to get the first draft of the first output ready. The task was not that easy at all. Basing on the brain storm done in Poland we had to complete templates describing materials/ideas/guidelines that we are going to continue working on. We didn't have too much time. The deadline was chasing us like a wicked witch! But all is done now. Well done everyone!

The bad news is that the job is not completed yet. Now we need to develop our templates, add some more details and turn them into a resource pack. Easy? Well, not too easy. It will require a lot of effort but with our determination, enthusiasm and cooperation it is going to be done well and on time.
